So overall I fully expect a very nice "second life" of Hurtworld, so long as promotion and advertising is adequate.(And a temporary price drop to about $15 to $18 would help a lot, until the pop rises by at least a few thousand and average review scores rise enough to warrant a $25 price tag. Also the potential for even more diversity among community servers is relatively massive. Meanwhile the small group of people who want end game in 3 hours and some super casual phone app type of gameplay will be the only ones left complaining. most will stay, especially the ones who have friends to play with (afterall this kind of game always promotes teamwork). I think in the game's current state and direction, when efforts ARE made to increase the population. Also a surprising (and almost depressing) number of players still haven't figured out how to even access V2. Combined with the lack of advertising and incentives to get new players to come try it out. Well 5% of players disliking it is pretty good, if you ask me.īut the pop issues are by-and-large because of so many players who quit in 2016 and forgot about Hurtworld, and haven't come back to check out V2. One out of every twenty players I speak to who spend a reasonable amount of time in V2 say it's NOT better than V1. If the majority of players who quit because the updates took too long (and most of these left in 2016 and haven't come back to see, so the argument that V2 chased players away is invalid) were to come back and check out V2. They don't like being part of the EA development process that V2 players have been so dedicated to helping out withīasically it all adds up to. They don't like the satisfying challenge of having to actually progress, instead of being able to skip to end-game quickly They liked the shotgun being super OP, instead of weapons being balanced There is less glitchy goofy mechanics that some players find "fun" V2 crashes for some users, partially due to a long-standing bug that microsoft introduced in October which effects the Unity Engine, and MS refuses to fix themselves (however, in most cases there is solutions for players to fix this themselves) so admins wishing to start a V2 server need to go through back-door methods to obtain most of the Hurtworld-specific plugins There has not been official Oxide support, in regards to plug-ins, for V2 (this will probably be changing very soon). Players with super potato computers with only 4GB of ram have trouble connecting to V2 servers due to a somewhat (but only somewhat) more resource-intensive loading process They like using the exploits in V1 that no longer exist in V2 They haven't played V2 for more than an hour or two at a time, and rage quit as soon as they see one thing that they don't like They don't like learning new things, and V1 is as simple as can be They don't want to need more skill to PVP (they like the lack of recoil and bullet physics in V1) They don't want to lose their unraidable cave spots that they rush to and take over every single wipe in V1 I think the main reasons for the "v2 suck" people, other than them just being jerks and probably would hate on the game no matter what happened, is The developers of this game are very active in the community and read almost every thread posted on the forum, and are not hesitant to make changes that the majority of the community wants, but wasting all the time and money spent on developing v2 and rolling back to v1 is not something most of the community wants and is not something they would do without a good reason. If one of these "v2 suck" people ever actually brought up a good argument then I'm sure even the devs would consider fixing what makes "v2 suck". Currently there are much less bugs than v1, the graphics are better, there is as least twice as much gear and guns, there is tons of ways to customize weapons and clothes such as skins, custom names and coloring via spray paint and item naming scrolls, there are PvP events at raid towns, there is custom stat progression on items via fragments such as making your car faster by adding a power fragment to the engine, and just so much more that I don't even have the time to list. Just play v2 for week or two and you would see how much better it is, right now would be the best time to get started as all the servers wiped yesterday.
